This time of year is always an exciting one for me. The time has come to channel my inner rodeo queen and celebrate the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. I remember going as a little girl when it was called the Fat Stock Show and now I look forward to the opportunity to take my own children. I must admit though that the other reason that I love this time of year is that it means that I have another reason to go shopping. There are some rules though when it comes to styling your perfect rodeo look. There is a fine line between channeling your inner rodeo queen and crossing the line to Ellie Mae.Channel Your Inner Rodeo Queen
Denim is a Must
Nothing says rodeo queen like a great piece of denim. The pieces featured above give you two great denim options.  The first option is to find a great floral or plaid daytime dress and accentuate the look with a denim jacket or denim vest. That look is actually my favorite and the one I opted for when I made the trip to the rodeo to see Alabama.  The other option that you see featured above is a denim shirtdress.  The shirtdress is a casual, comfortable option that can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the accessories that you choose.
Accessorize With Flair
When you accessorize correctly, you bring your rodeo chic look to a new level. With the rising popularity of country music and the expansion of the rodeo movement, there are now a wide variety of options when it comes to accessories. The centerpiece of any rodeo look is the cowboy boot. They are a great option for flaunting a bit of personality. My favorite pair is the black pointy toed cowboy boots with silver accents that I wore when I went to see Gary Allan the last time.  No matter what you overall style persona is there is sure to be a boot to match. Besides the cowboy boot, your jewelry is another method to channel your inner rodeo queen. I like big, bold pieces that have multicolored accents. I have a large black and silver cross that always finds its way into my outfit when I head to the rodeo. Between the cowboy boots and cross necklace I am always rodeo ready.
Now we want to hear from you…who are you most looking forward to this concert season?
